So the titel of a book about Aboriginal myths. In there a story about a bandicoot, Windulka was his name, who was looking for water during a severe drought. Windulka was digging many, many holes. Once there came a dingo, it's name was Baguruk, and hungry as he was, chased the bandicoot. Windulka was so frightened that he dug a deep hole, deeper and deeper until, without warning, he released such a large spring of water that it flooded the whole plain, filling all the holes dug by Windulka.
Today the land is covered with grass, and trees provide shade for the creatures and nesting places for the birds.
I did a painting today about this story
